Our school was established in 1968 by Dr. Robert Sohn. Dr. Sohn was in the U.S Army and stationed in Seoul Korea. There he began training in the Martial Art of Tang Soo Do. When he moved back to the U.S.A he was asked to be the New York representative of this art and opened up the Five Towns Karate Center (Warrior Scholar Martial Arts Academy) and taught many students.

Dr. Sohn taught Master Michael Masley who was the second president of our academy who taught Master Daniel Bannard the third president of our school who taught Master Daniel. R Segarra the current president. Master Segarra has four main martial arts instructors; Master Daniel P. Bannard, Master Frank Bonsignore, Grandmaster H.C Hwang, son of Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan’s founder Grandmaster Hwang Kee and Martial Arts movie star and the ‘King of Kicking’ Grandmaster Hwang Jung Lee. He has also trained with many Master’s and Grandmasters but those four are his main influences.

Master Segarra is currently an 8th Dan (black belt) Master Level Instructor in the art of Tang Soo Do. His and now your style is called Tang Soo Do Moo Sa Do Kwan; the Warrior Scholar Way of Tang Soo Do.
